Concealed Carry Pack Recommendation
Me | 12/26/2015 | Me

Posted on 12/26/2015 11:49:54 AM PST by paul544

I'm looking for some recommendations on a good carry pack. Living in Florida, I'm in shorts and light shirts most of the time so I'm thinking a bag or pack of some sort is the way to go. Anyone have a good recommendation? Something to handle a small semi?

Off-body carry has a number of drawbacks, such as the risk of having it “purse-snatched” or forgetting it even momentarily in a public place. If it’s in a pack or briefcase, it’s also slower to get to because it’s not always in the same spot on your belt. If you have to think about where it is, you may have lost the edge in a sudden defense situation.

My suggestion is to take another look at carry holster, gun belt, and cover clothing. I have a friend who lives in Florida and wears nothing but shorts and t-shirts year round. He’s always carrying a belt gun, but neither I nor anyone else has ever “made” him.

If you insist on wearing a tucked-in t-shirt, you are placing fashion ahead of you life. If your priorities are self-defense, this is not a hard problem.

Looks like a cell phone holder and lets you carry openly without alerting the sheeple.

One word on fanny packs, if you go that route, get one specifically designed for carry, as the clasp will never accidently release. Cheap off the shelf packs can fall off you raising the danger of an accidental discharge.

IMO, you should carry on your person. Adjust your clothing pick to do so. Better be a good reason to carry otherwise, such as plenty of firepower in a small gym bag, but if you you need to be doing that, concealment prolly isn’t your biggest concern.

A fanny pack or 'photographer's vest' screams SHOOT ME FIRST!

Get something from Raven Concealment, wear your normal clothes, and shut up.

We’re in the same boat. I’m in FL, shorts or capris all year. If I carry a full sized handgun I use a cross carry gun purse as the gun’s too heavy for a pocket, but for on-body carry in light clothing get one, or several, small guns w/o hammers. S&W Airweight, LCP, etc, and drop it in your pocket. A fanny pouch screams “I’ve got a gun”.

And good on you - get packin’!

The patented StealthgearUSA holsters use a breathable material on the inner surface to dissipate body heat and avoid sweating.

Girdle belt holster,,,you can wear it under the lightest of shirts ,,,, all it is a thick belt of elastic with a Velcro closure and a gun pouch,,,, it’s s best with single stack autos but I’ve worn one with a compact double stack .45 with no problems.... Easy access and secure....

Fanny Pack.

But when you're epic, you'll never need it.

Fanny pack. Keep it in the center. I have a bad left hip. I would have to have it in the center or with a counter weight if on the side.

One of those zip up note books, that are CCW carriers, late hubby used one.

I bought a purse off Amazon looks like the Flag and it has a CCW back zip pocket that fits my Taurus Ultra Lite just perfect.

Many use fanny packs designed for CCW.
