this is a good post. I just bought a new computer to hopefully help resolve the pop issues I was having. It didn’t help. I just uninstalled the anti-virus that came with it and installed kaspersky instead. It didn’t help. I tried one of the supposedly effective ad blockers. it didn’t work. It’s like this machine was built to deliver pop-ups to me. What is everyone else using?

Firefox with Ad Block Plus and Ghostery will solve all your ad problems.

Adblock Plus (not to be confused with AdBlock, a different but similar extension) and Ghostery, added to whatever browser you prefer.

Some use NoScript as well, among others depending upon your preference, but those two are the major ones.

Note: make certain you install both, not simply one or the other.
