My lovely kitty, all 25 lbs. of him, would sit on a dinning room chair, with his front paws crossed on the table, to keep us company, as we ate dinner. He really thought that he was a human being.

Same here. Our cat would sit on a dining room chair while we ate dinner. No one taught her, she figured it out all by herself. Very polite kitteh.

That’s great !
Nobody taught our kitty either, he just did it and kept on doing it. He also liked to sit in a club chair and watch T.V. with us, until he decided that he didn’t like the program.

Awww, that’s cute. Our cat would watch tv, but only if classical music was played in the background. She was about four years old when she found us; we wondered if she was reared in a household with a pianist.

She was a stray in the neighborhood for a while, and one day when I was sitting outside, she came over and hopped in my lap. Then she moved into the house, and discovered a warm cozy place with lots of servants willing to wait on her every need. haha
She was a sweet, sweet, cat and lived to be 18 or 19; I sure miss her.

We had our cat from the time it was okay for him to leave his mother.

Even people who hate cats, loved him. :-)

He was a wonderful, very sweet, quite intelligent cat.

He died of cancer at 15 and we still miss him VERY much.

I had a cat that regularly sat like a human.

I had another cat that taught himself to stand on the edge of the bowl with his front paws on the water tank and pee.

Your second cat was VERY intelligent; that’s a great feat he taught himself to do!

I knew a cat that would sit like a human like that. He was a maine coon cat, and really a bit of a scaredy cat, but he’d sit like that all the time. It is weird to see.

Very interesting!

Thank you for the post and ping, my dear friend.

We have a new kitten that loves to play #18, but the older cats will not comply.

My tomcat still does that once in a while. Older tuxedo cat is not amused.
