HARTFORD — New Britain-based Stag Firearms LLC pleaded guilty Tuesday to violating federal firearms laws and as part of a plea agreement company president and owner Mark Malkowski agreed to sell the company and have no further ownership or management role in a gun manufacturer.

The company, with Malkowski serving as its representative, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Hartford to a single felony count of possession of a machine gun not registered to the company.

Well there’s the rub. Having dozens of automatic assault weapons disappear or not be on the books at all is not a bookkeeping error.

It’s not a large company, with only 100 employees. Someone got caught with their pants down.

The government said 200 firearms were stolen or lost from Stag, although there is no evidence those firearms fell into the hands of criminals or others not permitted to possess guns.

The company specifically pleaded guilty to possession of 62 machine guns and machine gun receivers that were registered to another entity or not registered at all. ATF agents found the automatic rifles and receivers at the New Britain factory during an inspection July 15, 2014.

Losing 200 guns is a big deal. Having unregistered machine guns is a big deal.

They were sloppy at best. At worst, someone was selling machines off the loading dock.

What complete garbage. The National Firearms Act, the Gun Control Act, and the Hughes Amendment must all be repealed. They are completely incompatible with a free Republic under Constitutional government.

Exactly! Don't these government agencies and Liberals understand that what they're doing is wrong and unconstitutional?

They must be confused. I think we should talk to them and try to make them understand the spirit of the Constitution.

I suspect that you're trying to be condescending or sarcastic or something ...

You have, however, inadvertently come to what should be for you an important realization: the leftists hold our Constitution in utter contempt. They view it as something "outdated" that is to be circumvented or ignored, rather than obeyed.

you get to have fun with a whole bunch of full autos that cost little more than semis,

I remember my platoon sgt showing how easy it was to file down the sear on an M1 carbine to make it full auto. Late 50's before the mass insanity we could even have our own firearms as I ordered a pistol from Kline's through the mail, kept it in my locker. May not have been kosher but no one ever told me I couldn't do it.

I came to that realization years ago. Our sides naive tactic of using the Constitution as our only shield against Liberalism stopped working decades ago.

I roll my eyes whenever I see somebody on this forum or one of our "leaders" start talking about "Constitution this" or "unconstitutional that."

It's childish and naive and useless.

Even to this day, our side is still playing nice, polite, and with Marquess of Queensbury rules against the Liberals. It's pathetic.

Sounds like someone was selling lowers unpapered. I could imagine cash sales, no receipt.
