Evangelical leaders are urging fellow Christians to welcome refugees from Syria and Iraq despite opposition by many governors and presidential candidates.

Leaders of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Assemblies of God, World Relief and other Christian groups said they would not surrender to fears surrounding the issue. ...

Howsabout we just “accept” letting them cut our heads off and be done with it?

Hasn’t Hussein Obama put the kaibash on Christian immigrants; while on the other hand he’s hot to
trot for the Muslims (complete with their own
built in Refujihadis)?

Does anybody know what his burr up the butt about
Christians is?

I do not find scripture ordering me to permit known murderers to enter my house.

These religious charlatans can peddle their leftist political positions somewhere else.

FALSANI: What do you believe?

OBAMA: I am a Christian.

So, I have a deep faith. So I draw from the Christian faith.

On the other hand, I was born in Hawaii where obviously there are a lot of Eastern influences.

I lived in Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in the world, between the ages of six and 10.

My father was from Kenya, and although he was probably most accurately labeled an agnostic, his father was Muslim.

And I’d say, probably, intellectually I’ve drawn as much from Judaism as any other faith.

So, I’m rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people. That there are values that transcend race or culture, that move us forward, and there’s an obligation for all of us individually as well as collectively to take responsibility to make those values lived.

And so, part of my project in life was probably to spend the first 40 years of my life figuring out what I did believe - I’m 42 now - and it’s not that I had it all completely worked out, but I’m spending a lot of time now trying to apply what I believe and trying to live up to those values.

I know that in Central TX, DACA’s have been housed at Assembly of God camps, and BCFS (Baptist Children and Family Services) has been paid millions of federal dollars to resettle DACA’s and the ME “refugees”.

Hmm, it sounds like local churches of those denominations are acting on their own.

That said, I'm going to approach my own local AOG leadership and find out what's going on.

Thanks for the info.

Let's face it, throughout the Old Testament it is clear that there are three groups of people that need help from good, Godly people: aliens, widows, and orphans. I do not think people will dispute that.

However, there is an issue, however, of wisdom here. Is it wise to let in every tom dick and harry? Of course not.

Now the Evangelical could further argue that these people will have no other opportunity to hear the Gospel message. I heard it from the pulpit recently of an Assembly of God preacher that we should be ashamed of ourselves for not embracing these poor refugees. He prefaced that with stories he read on BBC of the women and children coming across. The wife and I had a long discussion about that later because we are quite literally in the heart of a dense Somali population. The question then becomes, have they, have we, as Evangelicals reached out to them? Hardly. It's a tough community, those Somalis. Not impossible but tough. And of course when you only get your news from BBC, which has a Muslim bias, you are going to get the poor poor pitiful me stories.

So the comments earlier that suggest these leaders are total liberal marxists are disingenuous and unhelpful.

I still say it is not a bad thing to wrestle with these ideas, especially when to NOT help is going against a lot of Scripture.

Since many in the Evangelical community have refused to go overseas or felt led to stay here to minister, they are coming to us. Again, the question is, have we done all we could to minister to those coming here from those lands?

My God teaches me to love Him fully and love my neighbor as myself. I’m not loving my neighbor when I invite a group into my neighborhood with 10 - 15% of them wanting to kill everyone in my neighborhood.

soft, cuddly thoughts indeed....wear a steel neck protector because some of your new friends might just seek to separate you from your head.....and ALWAYS carry a gun.

At issue is.... until Muslims themselves leave Islam and denounce the Koran you can expect any one of them can be manipulated within Islam to act against non-muslims given the “Duty” of and “Obedience to Islamic teachings” they know they must obey against non-muslims. That IS their frame of mind when they come here.....regardless of their desires otherwise on the surface, these are heavily and deeply programmed people.

Unlike Americans or Western countries that have familiarity with Christianity as it is, Muslims are taught Christianity is the enemy of Islam.

Therefore a simple presentation of the Gospel message, and they're acceptance of Jesus is often times, more than not, in order to be “accepted” in this country ...is not sufficient to assume a conversion has occurred.....as even overseas many are being baptized as Catholic in order to claim asylum as being persecuted for their faith.

Part of the Islamic Stealth Jihad is to infiltrate Christian churches....and these people are seasoned liars as they've had to do so to survive just daily in their volatile country even as a practicing muslim.. Jesus called the church, his church to "Go out" with the Gospel Message.....I think it more than wise and necessary to be very cautious of Muslims who come into the church....it takes months and months for them to grasp the Gospel message and it's full meaning.....there's a degree of deprogramming that also comes into play. And I would add only those who are well versed in scripture should take on instructing a Muslim.....they often times believe these conversations are to convert the person teaching them.

And I wouldn’t disagree with what you’ve written. But does it ever stop us from reaching out - whatever that means in each context? You can never discount the Holy Spirit - not saying that you have - being at work in their lives. Granted, it certainly takes a wise as serpents and harmless as doves approach to reaching out, but you can certainly see the opportunities we have before us. It’s just so complex.

This Evangelical Christian agrees with you 110%!

You can’t screen them, they will send the money back to the terrorist, along with the terrorist they have with them. You can’t track them, because DUMBO won’t chip them. Same goes for Illegals. Catch them, chip them, send them back to mexico.

Yes it is complex.....their culture norm itself is not compatible in a ‘free’ country...what does “free’ mean to them?...what does “peace” mean to them? Neither of which carry the same meaning we have of these simple basics of Christianity. So if you don’t understand ‘their’ meaning of those basics how then can you present the Gospel in a meaningful they will understand or in turn you understand them?

There’s a reason that God kept the Middle Eastern People “contained” in their countries, and any time they made attempts to go outside it was always on a war footing of Jihad, which is the Duty of all Muslims, be it Stealth Jihad or otherwise. The root is establishment of Islam World Wide...the “Duty” of all Muslims.

For years Christian Organizations have been presenting the Gospel in those nations, and at risk for their life in doing so... That’s how it’s done...That’s the Holy Spirit at work in the Missionary AND the people he sends them to... That’s why we have Missionaries.. to “GO Out” from the church family with the Gospel Message.

Wouldn’t you think that if these refugees were sincere about their intentions they would not be “hiding” terrorists among themselves? But you see any Muslims do not have critical thinking skills BECAUSE they are programmed to obey...period. And most coming here are not educated in the sense of what we see education....many are those who will be fortunate to have even rudientary work skills...most will have to be taught because even what they do know is so far inferior even when educated.....just ask any Physician, or technition that has to work with them.

We are taking on a huge mistake in bringing them to this country.....and that is the bottom line....as for those who are true Christians ....Middle Easterners knew the risk if conversion....and yes sometimes men and woman do die for their faith .
