British-born Mark Upham has resurrected the brand, buying the rights in 2008. The new bikes are entirely hand-made, at a rate of five a year, and are identical to their predecessors, except for the use of some modern materials - but no electronics. Buy one of these, and there’s every chance it will still be on the road in 70 years’ time.
That one is going to need some tlc.

I cringe contemplating such restos as the bikes pictured—I ain’t gonna live THAT long! I’ve done several Kawasakis, but the main thing to me was that it would be rideable & reliable after minor work like points/plugs/carb degunking. Only then did I go about making them all pretty—the last one looked like it came off the showroom floor and it was 8 years old and butt-effin’-ugly when I got it. Worth it, though!
Forgot this one, my buddy Junior in Lima bought a sweet RD350 from a guy we worked with back in 1982. It wasn’t a barn find—it came out of a chicken coop and it was literally covered in chickensh!t. I couldn’t believe how well it cleaned up. I didn’t want to touch it.
