One of the guys in the new Star Wars movie, who plays a pilot, was asking Harrison Ford how to work the controls on the Millennium Falcon. I guess he was expecting some very technical answer, because Ford is a pilot in real life.

Depends on the airplane. Example for you. My Cessna 172 uses 7.25 gallons per hour and travels without considering winds aloft 120 mph+/-. I have 38 gallons of usable fuel on board. I have calculated my flight time from AR to FL in both car and plane. The pane is better milage and obviously faster.

You are correct about the price difference. 100LL is $3.68 p/g where I buy. One has to plan on the best price when flying a long XCountry. I just don't say, "Ummm, need fuel guess I'll land." Even with the price difference it still works out for me. I should have included that part of my analysis in my first post.
