This shouldn’t be religion. Ballmer is gone. Microsoft is doing a decent job getting reconciled to the new environment, and the company CERTAINLY is not treading water.

I agree... my only concern in this thread's context is that Ballmer's attitude still exists at Microsoft in places in the executive levels, and when someday the currently beloved SatNad finds himself out of a job, his successor might be far less friendly.

In the meantime, all the buddy-buddy attitude will have given Microsoft a headstart at sucking Linux dry and tossing it aside, if it decides to do so.

I think this cooperation is a good thing, don't get me wrong. It will benefit everyone. But letting down one's guard against a behemoth like Microsoft is asking for trouble in the future.
