I believe the BATFE would like that very much.
What do you have to offer?
Seems to me, since JimRob owns this place, getting his permission via a FReep mail would be a logical first step.
I’m from CA. All sales through licensed dealers. No face to face. Handguns, rifles and shotguns are now registered through their DROS system that they say is not registration. I sent off for all the guns. They responded with every handgun I ever bought or sold for decades. That is is registration. Long gun registration only started 1/1/2014.
I think there are too many legal obstacles to make it a good idea.
I personally think the only control on guns should be maybe you have to be 16 to purchase one. Anyone should be able to buy one otherwise, even convicted criminals. If they are not to be trusted they should still be in jail.
Insane people should be where they can be cared for.
Nope.
Not a good idea.
Especially now.
We have a Facebook group in my area that buys/sells and it’s awesome!
I suggest a canoe club.
Could something like this be made legal if an official gun swapping club were organized? There would have to be rules, bylaws, officers and all that. Plus paying dues.
I have a feeling crossing state lines and mailing them would be stoppers.

I’ve used both...a lot. In fact, I just traded a Glock21 and a Remington 700 in 30.06 for a really nice Magpul Edition S&W M&P AR-15. Then again, I live in the free State of Texas, so I can do that! :-)
Those may be transactions best conducted by private mail rather than on an open thread.
That could become a membership only site with paid ads or paid listings that could help fund Free Republic.
A boating forum would be better.
We already have the BANGLIST. Discussing merits, problems, pros vs cons, etc., apparently is OK.
Conducting sales / trades is another matter, entirely. The MSM (and ATF) would have a field day with that...
I can't speak for the management of this place but... not me.
IBTZ.
I’m sorry to inform you, but your name just went on the terrorist watch list. No more guns for you.
About the same as it being called the "Bitter Clingers' Bullets and Bibles Swap." Not very.
You're more likely to have a forum to discuss tragic boating accidents where firearms and precious metals have been lost by FReepers since January 2009.
Probably best to do the actual business off-site and private between individuals. Making FR part of the actual vehicle would not be a good idea.
