We have one of those four-cup Mr. Coffee percolators that used to populate hotel rooms across the country. I can half-load it and brew just two cups, so we get fresh brew without waste. this may not be a reproducible solution, though.
I had to replace the glass pot a couple of months ago and found the things aren’t in production anymore. Happily, walking through Rite-Aid looking for something else, I found ONE — just ONE — 4-cup Mr. Coffee brewer on the shelf; new in the box. Perhaps the last one on Earth to be had at retail. We keep it sequestered in the adults-only zone and guard it like the Crown Jewels of England.
Tom the Son is home from Spring Break in western Virginia. He said they did some outdoorsiness stuff, but they didn’t go horseback riding because it was too expensive or to Monticello, ditto.
He brought Kathleen a silver bracelet with a purple glass cabochon. Only $8, he said, but it’s very tasteful and she can wear it the rest of her life once she gets past breaking and losing everything.
I had one of those 4-cup brewers for years, but still, it was too much coffee for me, and I ended up throwing out at least half the pot. If I make coffee now, and I don’t feel like drinking it right away, I stick it in the fridge.
I saw one of those 4-cup jobbies at Walmart a couple of years ago, but it was almost as expensive as a 12 cup job.
For the most part, I’m the only person here, so one cup is all I really need.
