My only negative on Gander Mountain is that the only one in driveable distance is a nominal 11ish miles away in New York with its 8.875% sales tax on everything under the sun including clothes and shoes.

Not PA where the tax is 6%.

Or NJ where the tax is 7%.

The state line for either is a nominal 11ish miles away and neither state taxes clothes and shoes..

But even as sucky as the Cuomo Empire’s tax is, it’s not 20%..

NYC doesn’t charge tax on food unless it’s packaged for immediate consumption. It doesn’t charge tax on clothing unless it’s expensive clothing. (I don’t know whre Magic Johnson shoes or whatnot fit on that scale.) Is NYS different?

On the food thing, if I go to the nearby 7-11 and get a candy bar, I’ll pay tax. But if I get a package of trail mix I won’t.

So I should change the first statement to NYC doesn’t charge tax on food unless it does.
