I have a GPS that tells me step by step what to do.

That's nice.

Until the battery dies.

GPS is wonderful; it's a poor substitute for awareness.

I don’t trust GPS, I always go on Google Map the night before and plot out the route.

I just plug it into the car. With an address, the most directionless, clueless person in the world could reach their destination without additional help. They keep improving them. Now it even shows lanes and signs, points to the lanes you need to be in, etc. Plus it tells you exactly what to do. I love it.

Also they can take into account time of day and traffic, sending you the best route for time of travel.

I absolutely agree. Used a GPS for a couple of weeks last summer. Didn’t like it. I’ve always liked a map, but depend on my sense of direction more. I never get lost.
