There was an old Hagar the Horrible comic strip where he and his sidekick Lucky Eddie were standing in the middle of Stonehenge and Hagar said "Look, this was built to last all of time so that nobody would forget the people who built it" and Lucky Eddie says "Who built it?". Hagar: "Nobody knows"
