When Nicholas Nixon took an unremarkable group shot of his wife Bebe and her three sisters in 1975, they had no way of knowing that it was the beginning of a remarkable art project. Nixon continued to replicate the original portrait every year thereafter, documenting the effect of time on the four women. This is a selection of some of those amazing photos.
2015 is the latest rendering. I believe they plan to continue to make this record.

I am so much weaker, there are times in the recent past, that I wish to relive over and over into infinitum.
I sometimes see in the moment they take to react, that I have changed in the interim, and the people who see me cannot disguise their disappointment.

He was a handsome youth, but the addictions that wore him down through his truncated life, are seen more similar as death approached.
Yet in the pictures where there are embraces, gives us hope that their was intimacy, even though brief as the shutter closed.
