When Nicholas Nixon took an unremarkable group shot of his wife Bebe and her three sisters in 1975, they had no way of knowing that it was the beginning of a remarkable art project. Nixon continued to replicate the original portrait every year thereafter, documenting the effect of time on the four women. This is a selection of some of those amazing photos.
It is a drag to click each one at a time, but it is fascinating. I thought it would give everyone a respite from political matters.
Interesting, yes we all age.
Age cannot wither her nor custom stale her infinite variety.
I think I’m gonna smile in all my pictures now...
1975 followed by 2013.
Time is cruel. It seems like only yesterday when I was an up and coming Steph Curry. I had a little better jump shot and I could go to my left better than he does but playing-style-wise there wasn’t much difference.
Hmmmm....
Carol, Carol, Hairy Carol, and Carol.
TheWalkingDead reference.
The photos were quite interesting, the website was quite annoying. I wonder who writes a business plan to start a website with the goal of pissing off nearly everyone who tries to use it?
The hairstyles and fashions are lost on me, any of the photos could have been taken last week or 20 years ago as far as I could say. But I’m a guy.
If you know how to see it, there is a lot of self-centerdness early on, then a lot of pain, and finally a lot of love and peace.
Wonderful art.
That’s what I first thought.
Seriously curious as to where you plied your incredible basketball skills.
Having a better jump shot than Curry and going to the left better (in fact doing anything on the court better than Curry in whatever era you played in) is quite the feat. I imagine knowing that you’re better than he is at those skills means you have set an incredibly high bar.
Where did you play your basketball? UCLA? North Carolina? Lakers? Hickory High, Indiana?
Mean looking group of what appears to be liberal ladies.
Time hasn’t been kind to any of them.
“Time hasn’t been kind to any of them.”

Oh,come on.——they look fine.
They look the way people look as they age.
Time is not too kind to most of us.
.
Funny, initially the red head was aging the quickest, I thought. In the end, I think she held up the best with the others quickly catching up to and surpassing her as far as aging in appearance.
I had the same experience. Didn’t even make my high school team, but then Curry wouldn’t have made the team either. There were real ballplayers back then and people knew to play the game the RIGHT way...
Translation: The older I get, the better I was when I was young.
I would not call them the Fun Bunch!
