LOL! Well, maybe so.

But I recall people calling it Berdo when I lived in San Diego way back when. Of course, relying on what I recall from those days is fraught with danger.

I moved to San Diego in December, 1965, and left Kali-Fornia the final time and for good in 2004.

San Bernardino was always referred to as “San Berdo” during those years.

I never heard it called “Berdo.”

I lived in Southern Cal for the first half of the 80s. I lived in Loma Linda, near Anderson and Redlands Boulevarde. I worked graveyard shift in the Circle K across from the Tri-City Drive In. I also lived in the Golden Eagle Motel in downtown San Berdoo, across from the Stater Brothers and next to Sir George’s Smorgasbord. I was very familiar with Waterman Avenue, where the shootings occurred. I went to concerts st the Swing Auditorium and Orange Show Pavillion. San Bernardino we a rough place then. I can only imagine what it is like now.
