HUNDREDS OF PHOTOS: American Muscle Cars: Pontiac GTO, Ford Mustang, Chevy Nova, Chevy Corvette
numerous sources | Dec 6, 2015

Posted on 12/06/2015 8:29:44 AM PST by ETL

And now for a little badly needed sanity in our lives...

Some of you probably saw my previous American muscle car, customs, and classic, car threads. Included here are some models I didn't manage to get to on those threads. Namely, GTOs, Mustangs, 442s, Novas and Vettes, plus a few other misc. Sorry, only a few of the pics are labeled. A handful are illustrations or plastic scaled models. See if you can spot which.

There are over 100 posted photos here.

I'm on my way out the door now, so won't be around to reply. Hope you enjoy the cars and the memories.

I know where there’s an orange 69 GTO Judge sitting in a barn... It’s got what looks like a factory cross-ram dual-quad setup with a working factory hood... Has hardly any miles on it... The farmer’s kid went off to Nam, and it went up on blocks then, and never moved again.

any of them with a 396... the 350's could hold their own with the Swingers and Dusters, Cudas, Mustangs etc in the 340-350 range of the day

You forgot that other iconic car from Bullitt...

The green '67 VW! The fastest car out there! Every time they rounded a corner, there he was again!

We had a ‘68 Cougar.

After we had it for about 10 years we would be approached by people wanting to buy it from us.

We sold it after about 13 years-—much to the dismay of my teen-aged sons.

Had a change to buy a road runner when I was I n high school

Yep.

I had a chance for a 1966 E-Type in 1972, for $2K.

Drove it. 90mph before I knew it.

In college. $2k was one semester’s tuition and room&board.

Wow! Thanks so much for posting. The good ole days for sure. I had completely forgotten about those little Chevy Nova’s. A walk down memory lane. Hard to find cars today that are as inspiring as those in the “muscle era” without raiding Fort Knox.

A few years ago, I bought a 67 Cougar

Had one from 1975-1977.

Had to sell when Son #1 came along to pay the doctor bill.

Thank you, came home from Church, checked Freepers, got Angry, then noticed a ping from you. Made me relax and realize Life is short and the boy will not control mine.

Around here some years back was an unrestored 1st generation Camaro in a guy’s back yard, but fully visible from the street.

He had a “Not For Sale” sign in the window.

I (still) don't really know how to post images on FR---stupid that I never really mastered it---but I can send you a photo of the totaled Camaro after the crash if you want to private mail me an e-mail.

My friend rolled over a 440 Cuda, went on the side for about 30 yards, then started flipping. He got out without a scratch.
