The zombie apocalypse, it would seem, is an infinite source of story inspiration. What would individuals become? What would humanity devolve to? What would the world turn into? And yet somehow, The Walking Dead has managed to become the most boring show on television. Granted, I do not watch every single show on TV (because even work-from-home writers need to shower sometimes), but I can say with fair certainty Iâd rather watch that show about Alaskan prospectors than AMCâs zombie saga. And when I say that I mean an episode where they prospect almost nothing at all. Thatâs how boring The Walking Dead has become.
(Itâs worth mentioning here that Iâm about to get into some spoilers, but most of them are a few seasons old by now. With that being said, letâs get on with the showâ¦)
Let me qualify this announcement: TWD wasnât always boring. It had a strong start, and a gripping first few seasons that might be comparable to Lost, another show which long outstayed its welcome. When viewers first entered the world of TWD, as we did with Lost, we were immediately thrown into the middle of catastrophe. The first episode of TWD taps into a very specific, very universal apocalypse anxiety. Namely, that is that the apocalypse will happen when weâre not looking, and that weâll walk out into it alone, with no context for what happened, and no information about the state the world is in. And like Lost, thereâs the mystery of the CDC, which is very Dharma Initiative-y, and the hermit scientist Jenner is very Desmond inside the hatch-y (although not half as handsome).
Indeed, TWDâs first season is responsible for some of the most iconic imagery in recent television history.

Why should I have to do all that? No other site gives me this problem and FR was fine for years.
Gads, I wanted to throttle Morgan! I still like it but it isn’t as good as before.
It has nothing to do with the occult.
What are you talking about.
Sure you can. Hit the “Preview” button, correct the characters and then hit the “Post” button. Easy peasy.
With such a short excerpt, it wouldn't take more than a few seconds to make the necessary replacements.
You mean there are real zombies out there?
The concept of corpses walking originates in the occult, even if the cause is supposed to be a microorganism. Same with vampirism of similar causation.
I am a fan of TWD, but I have issues other than the authors. What really bugs me is Daryl and crew surrendering weakly to some guys standing in front of parked motorcycles while they are driving a tanker truck and are armed with a rifle and RPG. Daryl was at Terminus yet he will still surrender to an unknown group.
Agreed, TWD is becoming a Dead Show Walking this season.
It was a very tight group of human beings vs. other tight groups of human beings, survival of the fittest with the zombies as metaphor/side-story, that made Seasons 1-5 so compelling.
TWD needs to get back to it ASAP.
The question should have been: Why hasn’t JR fixed it yet?
Why aren’t you people watching Homeland instead?
I of course can't answer that. But from what I understand, it's not as simple a problem as it might seem.
I watched that movie last night.
Sorry about the added crap characters. They don’t show up until I go to post the article so I can’t edit them out.

British actors don’t require paying Hollywood dues.
Lawrence (Bob Hope): "You live here?"
Montgomery: "Yes."
Lawrence (Bob Hope): "Then maybe you know what a zombie is"
Montgomery: "When a person dies and is buried, its seems there are certain voodoo priests who ... who have the power to bring him back to life."
Carter: "How horrible!"
Montgomery: "It's worse than horrible because a zombie has no will of his own. You see them sometimes walking around blindly with dead eyes, following orders, not knowing what they do, not caring."
Lawrence (Bob Hope): "You mean like Democrats?"
Seems like a metaphor. Zombies are Muslims—mindless killers.
That’s just crazy talk.
