The New York Film Critics Circle has named Carol as its best picture of 2015. The Todd Haynes-directed film — which stars Cate Blanchett as a housewife who meets and begins an affair with a shop clerk and aspiring photographer, played by Rooney Mara, in 1950s New York — won four awards from the critics organization.

Another one of those politically correct movies that liberals love but no one actually buys tickets to see.
Didn’t a lesbian movie from Europe just win a bunch of awards a year ago (Blue is the Warmest Color)? The critics seem to have a one-track mind. Can’t they just get a subscription to hustler.com and get it out of thier system once and for all?
So the big Oscar showdown will be between lesbianism and bestiality (bear rape)?

In the good old days, if a movie focused on two lesbians won a best movies award, it usually was in Vegas at an Adult Video gathering.
I have not seek “Carol” but I’ve read reviews and synopses and it sounds like an utterly, insipidly conventional P.C. storyline. Evil conservative America of the 1950s cruelly persecutes two women in love.
