Doomsday revisited: will warming deprive us of oxygen?
AFP ^ | Dec. 1, 2015 | Mariëtte Le Roux

Paris (AFP) - Global warming has triggered an array of apocalyptic scenarios for future generations, from worsening drought, storms and floods to melted ice sheets and rising seas.

Now a new study, published Tuesday and coinciding with the UN climate talks in Paris, adds to the grim tableau: the risk that warming at the far end of the scale could rob our planet of oxygen.

"We have identified another possible consequence of ... global warming that can potentially be more dangerous than all others," say a pair of scientists from Britain's University of Leicester.

Yes, also these peer-reviewed ‘science’ articles contain the same wording: could, probably will, may occur, might...ad nauseum.

My elementary aged son asked why there was so much carbon dioxide, was it really a pollution, they talked about it in science.
I explained the atmospheric cycle here.
He said, “Oh, no, if we get rid of it, all the plants die, and we die too!”
“Yes, which is why CO2 isn’t bad, and it has been at higher levels in the past, and plants and animals did fine then, too.”

Pity the environmentalists don’t get what an elementary aged kid does.

This raises an interesting point unrelated to the hysteria.

Back in June, Stanford University innovated a new kind of electrolysis, splitting water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen, using inexpensive anodes and cathodes made from nickel-iron oxide, instead of expensive ones made from platinum or iridium. Using low voltage electricity.

Now imagine you had a nuclear power plant whose sole purpose was to split water into hydrogen and oxygen? The idea being to set one up on Mars, assuming you could make some Total Recall-sized anodes and cathodes.

Yes, I have made this point also. All the maybes, probably, and other inexactitudes result in one big BS. I seem to get criticized for it, with critics saying I’m nuts for not accepting the “science.” It is not science it is computer modeling and wishful thinking.

Creating an atmosphere of highly flammable gas and oxygen isn’t a long term solution for anything other than a very large heat source.

Weren’t there just studies that came out that showed that at one time, when the erff was much warmer, the oxygen content of our atmosphere was richer? Would not that suggest that a warmer earth would have more vegetation that produced more oxygen than a colder erff?

I digress into logic. Apologies.

“nuclear power plant whose sole purpose was to split water into hydrogen and oxygen? The idea being to set one up on Mars”

Used how? The water itself is precious; you’d need to gather it to irrigate plants en masse for CO2-to-oxygen atmosphere conversion - way more cost effective (*COUGH*) for making Mars air at least remotely breathable. Convert the CO2, don’t try to displace it.

I propose the following:

Phase 1. Infrastructure

1. Build 500 desalination facilities along the African coastlines.
2. Build the infrastructure to run pipes all over Africa.
3. Green Africa

Result: More plant life to suck up the excess CO2. Water being pumped inland prevents earth from going underwater.

Phase 2. Egypt agrees to give Sinai to Palestine.

1. Sinai is rebuilt by the global body of the UN to be all green. The world contributes materials ad resources to build the new paradise which will be the model for all the world.
2. Only power used in Sinai is solar/hydro. Some LNG will be used for vehicles only.
3. All Palestinians living in Gaza who have criminal records or terrorist ties have to leave. All sympathizers have to leave. Gaza is emptied and Israel takes control. West Bank Arabs can go to Sinai or move to Gaza.
4. Arabs from all over the world are invited to live in the new Palestine.
5. A wall is built around the new Palestine to keep Jews out.
6. The largest Mosque in the world is built in the new Palestine.

Final Phase: United Nations

1. United Nations recognizes new country of Palestine.
2. Israel in a obvious show vote recognizes Palestine.
3. A new UN is built in Palestine. It will be the symbol of freedom everywhere and a celebration to mans greatness. It is built in the heart of the capitol.

Forgot:

Trump buys land in NYC where UN was.
Terrorists from the new Palestine launch rockets into Israel.
Israel levels Palestine, destroying the UN.

Finally, world peace.

To solve this problem, maybe we need to cull the herd of some oxygen thieves.

We’ll start with those who grab our money to give to useless chairwarmers calling themselves scientists (who actually just play with computers and misname it science). Then we finish up with all of the deadbeats who take government money for doing nothing, including aforementioned chairwarmers.

Then we won’t have to worry about losing all that oxygen, and we’ll get back most of our tax dollars to boot.

We’ll be deprived of oxygen because the plants that thrive on carbon dioxide will get too full to put in the work to produce and go to sleep. That’s the ticket!

I’m sure it’s a better theory than what warmists come up with.

Meanwhile, there are bacteria in Yellowstone National Park that live in scalding hot mud and water. Admittedly, I'm not sure whether they produce or consume oxygen.

We're phuqued.

They need to be concentrated together along with an electrical spark. Diffusion would be easy on Mars. And once there was enough oxygen to sustain aerobic bacteria, in turn they would start converting oxygen to CO2.
