It would have been quite a send-off, except LSU's administration doesn't want him going anywhere after all.
Minutes after LSU closed the regular season with a 19-7 victory over Texas A&M, athletic director Joe Alleva said Miles will remain the coach. The announcement capped more than a week of speculation that Miles was on the verge of losing his job after his first three-game losing streak in his 11 years at LSU.

The AD’s ‘Let me be clear’ was just as ludicrous and just as mendacious as Obama’s.
Strangest firing/confiring since Billy Martin. Can’t even speculate what was going on behind the scenes. All I know is the whole incident made ESPN look like monkeys.
In the overall scheme of things, it is so much more important to keep Les Miles happy. That is the thing.
How does this make the ‘Noles and Jimbo Fisher feel since rumors had Jimbo going to LSU to replace Miles.

Coach Richt is a great man and we had a really good recruiting class lined up, new facilities coming on line and a D that was getting stronger and stronger.
