The Official Fallout 4 Thread
11/28./2015 | By Laz A. Mataz

Posted on 11/28/2015 7:53:03 PM PST by Lazamataz

Had to do it. Had to create the thread. The game is too damned good. This thread is reserved for hardcore gamers who play Fallout 4. Norm, KC, TADSLOS and I have hijacked so many threads discussing this game, I felt we needed our own thread.

Fallout 4 is amazing. The content is excessively large. There is so much to explore, you could replay this game 10 times and not find every mission or quest. The characters are so much better fleshed out than any other game I have played. Even the radio announcer of Diamond City Radio will have you doubling over in laughter, he's so inept at radio announcing. :) Your companions will pitch in with consistently new, sometimes insightful, and almost always area- or mission appropriate comments. I even got Piper (the hot Reporter chick) to sleep with me. It took a lot of sweet talking. But now she's in love. "Piper, how do you feel about our relationship?" Her answer: "Blue, this is as close to nirvana as I will ever find. Who knew a jaded reporter like me would find love in a wasteland?"

Fallout 4 is so graphics-intensive that I had to upgrade my video card to the GTX970 from Nividia, and I am so glad I did. 4 gigs of video memory, and a solid GPU array. Now I get 60 FPS (at the best) down to about 30 FOS (at the worst) with occasional dips to an unacceptable 24 FPS when in extremely busy, high clutter city areas with lots of combatants.

Our first topic: I want to mod the songs. I want change the Classical Radio Station to play songs I like.

I have six titles so far, that would fit in this game:

Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot" to be triggered during combat

Drowning Pool's "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor", also triggered during combat.

Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What"

Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness"

Metallica's "Enter Sandman"

NIN's "Every Day Is Exactly The Same"

Any other suggestions?

I’m on steam but I never actually use any of the stuff there and launch from desktop. I just download as needed etc. I’ll look at learning how it works.

I don’t know which was funnier, supporting the Legion at the Remnants’ meeting in front of his face or selling him into slavery for Caesar.

I always got a kick out of Skyrim in that at low level you would literally kill everyone to get those 2 septim worth fur armors to sell. By lev 10 you were cursing the Holy Prophet ToddHoward (PBUH) for how annoying it was to loot corpses and AVOID taking them.

Oh, the FISTO thing was a glitch?

Well, I could infinitely keep getting a 10 cap refund from him if I wanted to. That made me think there was a glitch somewhere.

“I’m only killing you for your 3 gold (which I MUST take) and your alchemy ingredient now. Everything else you have has too poor of a weight/value ratio.”

I also think that Smithing was just too good in Skyrim, it made it too easy to get full daedric armor (and a high smithing was really the only way to get full armor). It was still nothing compared to what a good Enchanting/Alchemy loop could do for you.

I had some reservations about the map size until I played it. You really don’t notice it. With the cities and all the twists and turns/explorable places and buildings, it ‘seems’ massively bigger than Sky or the F#NV games.

I haven't Skyrimmed at all, but I have Fallout'ed all three: FO3, FO:NV, and FO4. In those, I am a PACK RAT. I pick up EVERY RUSTED TIN CAN. I will make extra fast-travels for as little as 10 cans.

Is that something I won't be doing in Skyrim?

The store won’t discount F04 for a long time. Bite the fusion cell and buy it.

You sure you have the hi-res texture pack installed and checked at the launcher, don't forget to get the unofficial patches for each DLC from Steam workshop. I'm replaying Skyrim now fully maxed and it's gorgeous maybe not GTA5 or FO4 good but Skyrim still has it's stunning moments.

Freepmail me how, if you would.

I never dealt with him. beyond the standard stuff. I always used either Boone or Veronica in general. Usually Boone. Then finished the game killing the wannabee Howard Huges and supporting neither legion, nor NCR.

If you want a postapocalyptic holocaust run right, you gotta do it yourself. California liberals in power? Nope. East coast liberals in power? Nope.

Only Volarian Lionheart, Hero of the People (Trademark applied for) can do this properly ;)

Start with luck 5 and intelligence 1. When you reach 2nd level, you take the idiot savant perk. This gives you a chance inversely proportional to your intelligence to triple each experience reward. It is a great boost for the first part of the game.

I apologize if it sounded like a slam. That was in no way my intent!
