Terrified neighbours phoned the police after hearing a woman screaming hysterically and a man yelling: “I’m going to kill you”.

But when officers arrived at the address they discovered the flat's sole occupant had been trying to catch a SPIDER .

The shamefaced man admitted he had been shouting death threats at the arachnid and had been the person behind the high pitched screaming.

According to New South Wales police in Australia, they received multiple calls about the sound of crashing furniture and a man screaming: “I’m going to kill you, you're dead! Die Die!!”.

Well of course they’ll just find their way in again.

How do you think they got there in the first place?

Teleportation?

/but don’t tell anyone

I kill my own spiders. Every single one I can find, if it’s in my home or on my porch. Something else can control the bugs. I prefer small lizards for that job.

I've had an unusual number of funnel spiders in the house this fall, since our first hard frost.

The dog goes out to do his *business* and lays on the lawn to survey his kingdom. I think they are hitchhiking on him, back into the house.

At one time, I could pick them up with my hand and throw them outside....but read recently that they can bite. I didn't know that ....guess I've been lucky.

Is this what you call a grass spider?

Yes, funnels and grass spiders look enough alike to pretty much be the same thing.
Just one wanders around and ambushes bugs without aid of a web, the other has that distinct tunnel web.
They can bite, but generally don’t.
Though I don’t take chances.
The bite is rather painful and can do awfully unpleasant things.
Allergies to bees or wasps increases the impact.

I went to put on my bathrobe the other morning...good thing it’s a pale color....spoted him parked in a fold was a funnel spider the SIZE OF AN ORANGE....in striking position. I never get freaked out at spiders. I FREAKED OUT!?! It was so huge and intimidating looking! Out he went....FAR FAR from the house.

My sis would have loved that one!
Terrarium, hollow log, water bubbler, it would have been such a pampered arachnid.
Terrarium so it didn’t run away like the last one..

I would have been happy to put it sandwiched between 2 pieces of shipping tape and USPS to her.....just to see if it *made* it. Ugly thing! 8)

Oh, the “forelegs up” pose is a classic.
Better when they race in circles after food like that.
(They have remarkably poor eyesight.)

That’s a jumping spider.
THOSE have excellent overlapping 360° all around vision.
And those are hysterical to mess with as well.

Jumpers can also move the retina of the two primary eyes to look left, right, up, and down.
Which you can see in the above video.
Watch how the eyes “change color/reflection”.

Pretty funny to watch a small one grab a housefly twice its size.
The fly chugs off with a passenger aboard.

One of my kids showed me this article.. oh the laughter. I have a mint and water spray that I mixed together for the dangerous ones that the kids use. Someone messed up the way they say spider, and it's now officially spooder™ spray in this house.
