It's Old Blue Eyes night at the DFB Theater. Frank Sinatra stars in this biopic of performer Joe E. Lewis, a depression-era star whose singing career was cut short - literally - by a razor-toting gangster, only to find a new career years later as a stand-up comedian.
Co-starring Eddie Albert, Mitzie Gaynor, Jeanne Crain, and Jackie Coogan.

Good film. Sinatra was good friends with Lewis in real life, and I think that brought a certain energy to his performance in the film. 7.25/10.

Joe E. Lewis had a son who was killed in action in WWII while Joe was doing USO shows overseas.

No kidding? Sinatra as "Old Satchel Mouth?" Sorry, I confused Joe E. Brown with Joe E. Lewis.
