Jan 14, 2020 is end of extended service -- that's the end of the road for us mortals, though we can predict that like XP, Win7 will have special past-extended security patches for high-paying enterprise customers.
Thanks!!!! I just might not bother with Windows 10 and just go to 8.1 in my own time
BTW-—— I put win 10 on a friends Win7 computer. He got jealous and wanted it after his friends upgraded. He was super duper pleased that after the upgrade he could still use Explorer 11 and all his passwords were kept intact. So for all his uses (internet is it!!) its as if he never upgraded.
I thought Win 10 came with Edge and that was that. But to my surprise Explorer was still there!!! He is not using Edge, Firefox etc. He is sticking with what he is familiar with...Explorer 11. And his moves slowly because it has about three toolbars installed on it like freakin “Ask”...arghhhhhhh Bing and google too and maybe another
Jan 14, 2020 is end of extended service — Gonna mark that on me calendar and switch over to 8.1
I have 8gb ram and 16 on another, SSD drives and good Intel processors so me not migrating to windows 10 ....its not a horsepower issue.....
But I can see that four years from now with all the updates Windows 10 is going to be bloated and twice as big as it is now. Small footprint now but just you wait. And with all the phone home to Microsoft crap... who needs it!
And that propaganda that Windows 10 is the last windows OS but with eternal updates...... How will this beast behave in 4 years?
