Not only did they keep their weapons, but those guns were the ASSAULT WEAPON of their time. How could the “father of our country” have possibly allowed those combat veterans to go back to civilian life fully armed? (just kidding)
Today, the gun may be even more important. A reading or listening of the “media”, tells the sensible that the old Boy Scout motto, “Be Prepared” is still, in these times, valid.

I slept in the big bed at my grandfathers farmhouse circa 1956. There was as a shotgun under the bed. He alsways slept on a cot in the kitchen where the stove was. That was life on a farm after the kids grew up.

And that is what we call...the militia....ordinary citizens....with a God given right to defend themselves and a government who can’t take their guns away.
