I lost most of my hearing in RVN, but this stuff I remember.
Note: In the last ten years or so, hearing aids have made massive improvements, now under some conditions I can hear OK!!

I remember sitting in the chow hall, during basic training in 1969. Run Through the Jungle (CCR) came on every morning. Black is Black was played every lift off in country.

A friend of mine served in “Nam, came back wounded, healed up OK. The sing he brought back was for Christmas time.
On the first day of Christmas truce, Ho Chi gave to me,
A sniper in a palm tree...
On the second day of Christmas truce, Ho Chi gave to me, Two punji stakes and a sniper in a palm tree...
It got worse, but you get the idea.

#1 song has to be - "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" by the Animals.
I haven't lost my hearing but my tinnitus is directly related to 3 years in artillery, including 13 months on an 8" howitzer up on the DMZ.

Kind of depends on the period of that era. Beatles, Bob Dylan etc. were big everywhere. And Hollywood has kind of made some songs standard fare for their war movies of that time.

Someday Soon by Judy Collins was played quite a few times in our barracks. We listened to many of the songs mentioned and Long Long Time by Linda Ronstadt.

An entire generation of American kids was sacrificed to the war on world communism and got no parades, or even thanks.
The same for America’s Korean War vets.
