Just a note about posting comments - use an HTML escape character instead of the display character so the text looks right - for example, notice how quotes get munged if you just leave them in.
Here is a list of some helpful HTML characters to make quoted material more readable.

Use preview to reveal bad characters.
Go back to edit, retype characters.
Rinse, repeat, post.

I've been utilizing
Online HTML Editor Copy and paste an article, edit to your specifications with their tools, then switch to "Source" for the HTML codes. Copy and paste to Free Republic.
Voila!
