My pediatrician (old country doctor) had my mom rub whiskey on my gums. 40 years ago it was ‘old wisdom’ now its a crime.
Although .19 is a bit high for just teething, I suspect she was using it to get him to sleep

That practice was not uncommon when I was a child. One of my sisters did that with one of her babies, as well.

Although .19 is a bit high for just teething... A bit? Uh, yeah; I'd say almost 21/2 times the legal limit for intoxication would be considered "a bit".
