Mizzou’s student body president apologizes for scaring everybody with false KKK on campus rumor

It was a rough night on the campus of the University of Missouri, thanks in large part to Student Body President Payton Head. Head posted on Facebook earlier in the night that the KKK was confirmed on campus and that he was working with “the MUPD, the state trooper and the National Guard.”

The only problem with that terrifying statement is it wasn’t true and Head was forced to delete the post and apologize:

What’s the feeling around the campus and town? Is it split 50/50? Do people believe there’s “systemic” racism there? Are people boycotting the football games?

It’s not surprising to me...but I’m still shocked.

How does Missouri turn into Mizzou? I looked it up on Wiki and still no answer how “s’s” turn into “z’s” for no apparent reason. And for a school of higher learning to do this makes absolutely no sense. Is it slang? Ghetto? Ebonics?

In the face of these threats, we are grateful to MUPD, which has worked tirelessly to keep our campus safe and secure. This is and will be our top priority.

Since spreading rumors about the KKK can inflame emotions which could easily morph into what we saw in Ferguson and Baltimore, Student body President should be removed as President at the very least. Expelled would be ideal.

That is my definition of Social Justice. No one gets a pass.

The meltdown continues.

The sign out front of the black culture center was vandalized last night.

The football faculty/staff luncheon that was scheduled for today has been canceled.

The black kid who’s president of the student association tweeted that the KKK was on campus, then later tweeted that he just made it up.

One professor has resigned because his students threw a tantrum after he refused to postpone a scheduled test.

It’s hard to keep up with it all. I expect racial tensions to be worse as a result of this.
