Americans over 30 are more miserable than they’ve ever been

It all goes downhill after 30 — at least when it comes to happiness.

“Adults over 30 are less happy than their predecessors,” concludes a study published online Thursday in the journal Social Psychology and Personality Science, which examined happiness data from more than 50,000 adults, gleaned from the General Social Survey, carried out by NORC at the University of Chicago, a nonpartisan, independent research organization, which has collected information about American adults since 1972.

From 2010 to 2014, adults over 30 had an average happiness score of just 2.18, compared with 2.24 a decade ago. That’s significant considering happiness scores were measured on a tiny scale from just 1 to 3, with 1 being “not too happy” and 3 being “very happy.” (The data used five-year cohort periods so that single year fluctuations were smoothed out.)

I wasn’t really in the labor market during the Carter era, just summer jobs. But, I never had a problem finding one. Didn’t know anybody who lost their job. It was no walk in the park with the high inflation and just general gloom, but it does not compare at all to the present circumstance. Not at all.

Equally inflicting as much misery as possible on everyobe was one of the primary objectives of Zer0’s fundamental transformation.

Is like Gorky says in lower Dapts. Quote: “Miserable being must find more miserable being. Then is happy”. Unquote.

I’m 64 and am as happy as I’ve ever been. My name reflects my sadness about my country. But personally, I’m okay.

I truly believe if he pulls some stunt and says he’s staying he’ll get very little opposition.

In a lot of ways, Frank was a very conservative guy. He had no patience for BS or for craziness that did not make sense. He also had very few friends and worked all day/night in the studio. He had a very bad break from the medical system (a delayed diagnosis) and he died too young.

Couldn’t be that Americans over 30 can remember what life was like (as adults) before Barry the Wonderputz was installed as The One, could it?

Because we don’t have good days just days that don’t suck so much.

Because working people are threatened in their person, in their livelihood and in their life by odungo’s people or his gubment with their laws and unlimited regulations and PC crap.

That is why.

Why don’t people realize that this feral gubment is what is making our lives miserable?

That was a great post. I’m in my forties but I certainly recognized the world you described in the first paragraph.

I miss that world. Hell, I miss the 2000s!

Ha! Wait ‘til they realize the Ponzi scheme of SS/etc. will finally dry-up; while the grand-parents scoot along to along month long ‘vacation’ on THEIR ‘benefits’.

Then comes to crushing taxes to pay for everyone’s ‘FREE’/promised/’paid for’ stuffs by all previous generation, before they could even walk...

Say, anyone: At what $$ or income tax % does ‘slavery’ kick in again? From the unfunded liabilities, it’s over $1M (@ $18T+, it’s $150K)...per TAXPAYER. Unfortunately, we know we have far too few of those for all the ‘freebies’ given to EACH CITIZEN.

“Boomers have already succeeded in their pursuit of happiness under the auspices of the old order before globalization so they don’t give a damn.”

Not true, at least not with this boomer.

“while the grand-parents scoot along to along month long ‘vacation’ on THEIR ‘benefits’.”

Grand parents who take month long vacations certainly aren’t doing that If they only have SS.

We also have savings and private pensions.

No one is taking trips on “THEIR benefits”

.

You’re exactly right; people over 30 remember the “before-times” where jobs and opportunity were much more available (for Americans). It wasn’t perfect, but hard work would get you a better standard of living than lazy parasites. Many people over thirty remember the pre-political correct atmosphere, and a time when this country was the unquestionably the best. Many remember winning the Cold War which had haunted their parents’ generation.

Just as in “Animal Farm”, it is obvious why the left needs these people to disappear...
