No thanks.
Eat um up yum yum
Those that honor military service year-round get my vote.
Please keep in mind that I speak (type) only for myself...
As a veteran, I choose not to participate in most of these rewards because to do so would require me to alter my already busy work day. I appreciate the sentiment and the gesture, and I encourage those who would like to enjoy them to do so with a heart filled with joy and peace. For those vets that have financial or other difficulties, I especially hope they find many opportunities to partake.
I am very grateful to my country and my fellow veterans - both those I served with and those who came before or after - for the opportunity to serve, while still building my own opportunities for what comes after. I went to school on an ROTC scholarship, and that education has become the key to many post-service opportunities which I am pursuing with as much vigor as I can.
Beyond all of that, I would like to thank every single honorable veteran in this nation. Regardless of political outlook, your service is a reminder of what makes the United States great.
For those that never served in the military, I thank you for each act of service outside of uniform. By giving of yourself to your fellow citizens, you strengthen the bonds between all of us.
Just my $.02.
