For two decades after the Second World War, over half of all employees of the West German interior ministry were ex-Nazis, a new study shows.
The research, carried out by the Center for Contemporary Historical Studies with the blessing of the Interior Ministry, shows that the number of ex-Nazi party members in both the West and East German postwar administrations was much higher than previously thought.
In exact figures, an average of 54 percent of civil servants in the West German interior ministry were former Nazis, although at its high point between 1966 and 1961, two-thirds of all employees at the ministry had been Nazi party members during the war. ...

Heck, half the post war US government was communists.
Have you seen the trailer for “Trumbo” What a liberal
whitewash, pure socialist propaganda revisionism!!!
“Von Braun had lots of experience running a large industrial high-tech R&D operation. Unfortunately, Goddard never got the chance.”
We had many such people. Goddard’s work would have certainly inevitably been carried on by any of them. Had Von Braun died in an air raid, Nasa in the 60s would have went in a similar direction, with similar results.
I never said anything even remotely stating such. You seem to have a chip on your shoulder. Goddard was extremely important, and so was von Braun.
I’m a USAF veteran, and I have no German ancestry. You’re barking up the wrong tree.
>> Well heck we had a Nazi for UN Secretary General <<
Hey, Kemosabe, just who is this “we” of whom you speak?
That statistic would seem to be a totally insignificant factoid, to wit:
After the Night of the Long Knives (1934), the SA lost its political importance and became virtually a nothing-burger. The really nasty and influential "storm troopers" were not the SA. No, they were the SS.
Yup. Hitler brought all the levers of power to himself.
His SS was created to eliminate a rival power center in the SA.
Makes more sense now who started importing all those Muzzies into Europe after WWII to re-build it.
That doesn’t mean they rejected their ideology utterly.
I suspect it’s the proverbial “we” that did nothing to expose Kurt Waldheim before the 1980s. Bad enough there was enough of a proverbial “we” that was just fine with him being president of Austria from 1986 to 1992.
Thanks.
Angela Merkel was born in West Germany. Her father moved to East Germany to become a Lutheran Pastor under Communist control. Nobody except hardcore Reds moved from West to East Germany. Young Angela was active in Communist youth groups.
I remember reading somewhere that Merkel’s father was an interesting chap a pastor from East Germany, who would surely have come under the steely gaze of the Stasi, and yet who was able to travel back and forth across the border between East and West Germany with ease.
His childless daughter, fifty years later is now chancellor of a united Germany, and ostensibly a conservative.
Someone suggested that she may indeed be the greatest communist sleeper ever sent into the west, still programmed to carry on the DDR’s plans long after the regime had ceased to exist.
Crazy, until you look at Merkel’s recent behaviour as she throws the doors of fortress Europe open to the invading hordes.
Actually, Adenauer sought non-Nazis for his government. They did exist, as he was one himself. There were others too, but the NAZI party was also a jobs program, so the people with the expertise in running the quotidian aspects of government were often NAZIs. There were many, however, who would have done just as well. He found them in the NAZI prisons, for example, Stadelheim. Some effort would have found them (and sometimes did).
Hell, without von Braun, no man on he moon. He invented the space ship.
Von Brain sold the military—and Hitler— on the rocket. Ironically, if all the money the Germans put into the V-1 and V-2 had been devoted to heavy bombers, it would have been better for them. On the other other hand, if the V2s had been reading to launch in the spring of 1944 and aimed at Normandy. We would have had real problems.
Donât care about 60 years ago. Iâd like to start seeing Communists who ran the Gulag persecuted just like the Naziâs were. Iâd like to see communists who are lusting after power over us persecuted the same way. I am focused on defeating todayâs enemies.
Past is prologue. The leftists running our country now are operating under the Manifesto’s credo of “the present dominates the past” and want nobody to learn from history.
Her maiden name “Kasner” was originally “Kasmierczak” (from her paternal grandfather from Posen), which is interesting.
Yes, he was. I cant see without the Nazis we made deals with to move stateside after the war, we would have beaten the Russkies.
