They’re 95% or more solid rock with very little open space.

I believe it was once common in Egypt to put grain in clay pots buried in the ground or stored in buildings.

Why would you build such a huge structure with such a small amount of storage space? Silly on the face of it. Let alone all of them being built during a single lifetime.

My God, this “Great Pyramids as grain stores” schtick is getting old! Only a complete idiot would believe that the Great Pyramids were used as silos.

I have been inside. I sure the heck would not want to haul grain in and out of the Great Pyramid.

The question is “Can someone think that the pyramids could be a grain storage silo?” Some could and some could not. Could someone believe Moses parted the Red Sea? Some could and some could not. Biblically, I believe in the Red Sea parting but not the pyramid grain storage, but I’m sure their are people who would laugh at either scenario.

That’s what all those domed-shaped things they have in the Midwest are for. Ancient tombs. Ancient corrugated and galvanized sheet steel tombs.

This nonsense is taking Hillary off the news. But it really doesn’t matter. What matters is the FBI and the pressure they will put on the Justice Dept to indict. With new info that Obama did not know before, he has cover to let it happen. I think that when the email was discovered in which Hillary used advice from Blumenthal, it changed the game. That has to absolutely piss off Obama.

I never really thought about it and think they had to have been built for other reasons than just grain storage.

How would we know how much room was inside if it weren't for robbers and modern archaeology? Is there some ancient record (apart from Joseph's slavery in Egypt in the Old Testament)?

BTW, it is interesting that this story is getting such widespread coverage. There seems to be some tradition of storage I was unaware of.

I wish I knew how they hauled and raised those blocks. If there was a facing, I wonder what they looked like before it all came down or was taken down, if it is true.

Ancient Egypt did in fact have government run communal grain storage repositories, but the Pyramids weren’t them.

The pyramids didn't just pop up out of nowhere 4500 years ago. They started out roughly 500 years earlier as structures called "mastabas".

Mastabas de Beit Khallaf | Sohag Atracciones

Some time after that they stacked the mastabas on top of each other forming a "step pyramid".

Step Pyramid of Josser

Eventually they would fill in the slopes to form the familiar pyramid shape.

First of all; when Joseph was appointed to save Egypt from the coming famine, he had 7 fat years in which to store up grain for the coming 7 years of famine. They had to build granaries quickly. Each of the pyramids took DECADES to build using slave labor. The famine would have been upon them before the first pyramid was half built.

Secondly, The pyramids are practically useless for grain storage. They are just huge rock piles, solid stone upon stone, except for a secret passage entrance, and a few smmall burial rooms that are practically inaccessible. They were designed to be entered one time, for the funeral of pharoah, and then sealed shut forever. There’s no place in that nearly solid rock pile to store more than a few bushels of grain.

The pyramids were NOT for storing grain. I cannot believe an intelligent man such as the good doctor would utter such nonsense. He obviously gave no consideration or thought to the construction of s pyramid. It isn’t hollow and spacious. It’s a nearly solid heap of humongous stones.
