I believe they were bought by a German publishing house years ago—That’s when they started their leftward drift.

We used to get it as a Christmas gift from one of my wife’s aunts. Fortunately, that aunt passed and I no longer have to put up with that crap in my house.

When my Mom was alive she bought me subscriptions to Popular Science and Popular Mechanics. About 15 years ago I persuaded her to stop the Popular Science rag. They had gone deep into the PC crap, especially the fake "Global Warming" scam.

My Mom insisted on sending me the subscription to Popular Mechanics but at least ten years ago, or more, they too went left. When my Mom passed away I finally stopped receiving the rag. As it was, the last five years receiving it I would chuck the thing in the trash as soon as it was delivered and never read a single one.
