A question about the debates

Posted on 10/29/2015 5:37:09 AM PDT by Yorlik803

Ok, the men and women running for president on the GOP side cant take part in un official debates or else they risk being banned from official debates. Since the media is bound and determined to turn the GOP debates into a demolition derby, what would happen if all the candidates decided to hold their own debates with Conservatives like Rush and Mark Levin as moderators? Or get together before hand and tell the liberal moderators that unless they ask decent questions about policies instead of gotcha and he said this questions they wont take part. The Candidates hold all the cards. They are the reason people are watching. Why don't they set the rules?

Rather than a “Debate” as we see on TV I’d rather they be given the same 5 questions - that none of them had seem before - and then be given 3 to 5 minutes to answer the question. Ideally they’d do this while separated from the others so that they answer the question without knowing what the others had said.

Then post the answers to YouTube. Bypass the media altogether.

Cruz asked that same question. What’s the matter with Reince Priebus, anyway? He owns how badly these debates are moderated.

Rinse might as well hire Dingy Hairy to moderate. Rinse needs to resign in shame.

“Why don’t they set the rules?”

Great question. Why do we let the left control everything else? The media, education, etc?

I always thought a conservative “Saturday Night Live” show would be immensely popular. There are people in the right places with money to do it. There is talent and endless material. But nothing.

People are asleep.

That media joke fest was a disgrace last night.

The GOP is stupid to agree to all of these debates.

Next debate supposedly on November 11th.

I think people have had enough of these media controlled dog and pony shows.

Or not agree to do anymore debates unless the moderators agree to ask the Democratic candidates the exact same questions.

Why are Paul and Fiorina still on the debate stage?

Because the GOPe still hopes that one day the MSM will accept them.

And .. what people may not know is that the Candidates complained from the beginning, and Reince had to cut out TWO OTHER LEFTY DEBATES.

And, I agree with Cruz. I’d love to see a debate moderated by Rush, Levin and ?? (another Conservative).

Maybe we should start hammering Reince with that idea .. and ask him who he really supports.

Good question. Republicans should not participate in such Propaganda events. I can’t imagine why they did.

Debates to me are a lot like the enviorment that one of these participants would encounter
if he/she is lucky enough to be the selected to president for the next four years. Yes they can
control the enviorment to a large degree but I suspect they have moments where things come
to their desk without a lot of time left to make at least an initial decision.

These are nothing more than one of the processes they may encounter if president.
Like it or not, I think it’s interesting to see how they handle such situations. jmo.

I like that idea. Send them each the questions, say you’ve got 1 hour to return the video of your responses. As you say, each response will be arbitrarily edited/cut at the 3 or 5 min mark. If you miss the 1 hour deadline, you don’t get put up...

“I like that idea. Send them each the questions, say you’ve got 1 hour to return the video of your responses.”

Actually I’d have them in a studio. Just in separate rooms. Ask them the question give 3-5 minutes per-answer. They don’t need an hour and you don’t want them to be coached.

It would be more informative but less political theater.

Would have to be live so, like you said, they couldn’t be coached.
but questions would be screened before to avoid Gotcha questions.
The person running the GOP is a fool if he thinks the MSM will ever get behind any conservative. They are openly hostile towards the right.

I always thought a conservative “Saturday Night Live” show

***************
That’s a very interesting idea and one that would probably make a network a ton of money.

One thing that was clear last night was that for once, the Republican candidates stood up to the biased assault from the media and started hitting back. And they did it very effectively. The liberal media is nothing but a bunch of bullies and the only way you stop bullies is to punch back hard.

I hope the Republicans can see this and finally refuse to stop being political punching bags for the left. That is the only way to get them to back off. Like Trump, they’ve got to establish the fact that they will counterpunch hard when attacked. And then watch the cowards in the media retreat.

I would love to see a real debate with Rush, Levin & Hannity as moderators, but who would ask the tough questions?

Those questions that need to be discussed, which one of those guys dare to put any of them on the spot and alienate even one of their base listeners?

Perhaps in the next debate: WHEN (not if) the moderators ask/or speaks so negatively.....THEY ALL TURN THEIR BACKS, or all walk out, or simply don't say a word remain Mute.

Whatever they do, needs to be done in unison, to illustrate that this is a debate for the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES and not for some cartoon show.

It needs to be done in unison to say to America "Enough is Enough" and we are not going to take it anymore, shove it. Now these guys have another 1 1/2 hours to fill, perhaps they can debate you the audience or each other to fill the time.

Good idea. Time for the candidates and GOP to embrace the online age.
