I met Ed once. I had previously worked with one of his old producers, who told me this story. Ed confirmed for me that it’s true.

As you know, Ed is blind. So when he was a local personality in DC, he used to be given scripts in braille to read.

One day he was reading an ad for Giant, a local supermarket chain. At the end, after talking about a special, he read “Get this special deal at the Giant at fill in location.”
