Fox News got her age right, my clumsey typing fingers got it wrong in the headline but right in the body. 95 years.

It would be funny if it was intentional, but it was just a typo. And Maureen was not touchy about her age.

One could make the case that there are only a handful of “faces” in Hollywood and everyone looks similar to a few other great actors through the years. I’ve noticed that Kevin Bacon looks like Nick Nolte and a little like Gary Busey. Jodie Foster looks like that chick in those Twilight movies and she looks like Helen Hunt. Channing Tatum looks like Josh Hartnett and on and on.

You are correct.
It takes certain bone structure and proportions to be ‘beautiful’. Plenty of actors do fine without those features, but it’s tougher.

What a grand lady! Saw a interview with her about a year ago on TCM. She was wheelchair bound. She loved John Wayne and said she hated most of the leading men of the day she worked with. RIP Miss O'Hara.

A beautiful woman. I have many of her movies, including some of her not so well known ones on DVD.
To: GreyFriar
Always loved her movies. Especially with The Duke.

IMHO - probably the best movie ever. I still get laughs when I pull out my little notebook and tell somebody I am putting them on my list.
And she was my idea of what a woman was supposed to be. The perfect foil for John Wayne.

Great photo. Thank you for posting it. My favorite role is her as the Colonel’s wife in Rio Grande. Of course I spent time in the Army in a Cavalry Squadron (3-12 Cav)

And the Hunchback of Notre Dame was on TCM this morning. I had forgotten her being in “Parent Trap” with Brian Keith and Haley Mills.
