Yep its the same problem as Apple a nice product but that way overpriced..

it like a car..is it a business tool or a status symbol? ... if you really use computer or a car as a tool you have to look at cost of turning it over ever few years and balance out cost vs need for a given feature..is it a needed feature or is it a luxury feature

Agree with your cost assessment approach.

Hey, I drive a 13 year old SUV, and am using a < 8 month old computer right now. I've probably built 8, 9, 10+ different desktops in the same amount of time.

I'm doing something wrong here! ;-)

Without actually wanting to start an argument :-) I would suggest that "way overpriced" really means "too expensive for me", and that's fine too, but different.

"Overpriced" in a free market means no one will buy it because its value is not worth the price. That is CLEARLY not the case here. They're selling like hotcakes, and I guarantee you that most of the people getting them are NOT stupid fools or fanbois.

Some buyers see the "value" in the newness and cool looks, others in the performance, others in the fact that it's the first real laptop from Microsoft... "value" is different things to different people. You don't see the value to justify the price, and that's your option.

But "way overpriced"? Hardly.

Same true of Apple gear. If it was "way overpriced", it would be sitting on the shelves unsold.
