This week our daughter is on vacation in Istanbul. I am excited for her to be able to travel to such a historical place, but at the same time am worried sick. I'm not going to sleep well until I hear that she has landed safely in NYC.
We are keeping in touch via Whatapp (an app that lets you text from anywhere there is wifi and won't charge international rates). She is enjoying the sites, getting the hang of how to travel about the city and even sampling some "weird food".
What prompted her to go to Turkey? Her good friend, Denisa, made plans to visit and plane tickets were cheap!
It would be appreciated if you would please say a prayer for their safety.
Beaker!
Make sure you stand behind me for your own safety.
She has been taught the same but they confiscated most of her guns upon entry to be returned when exiting.
Ping to you my FRiend.
Thank you for the ping!, I will pray for your daughter! I hope she has a fabulous time!
Know how to shoot.
Know to have their heads on a swivel....in certain situations.
I am always thinking, looking, listening....
My background is the healthcare biz......Critical thinking skills are very important.
I've seen enough people in this biz...that can't do it. Doctor's, nurse's, therapists..etc.
My dad was a Marine....he taught me well.
I would love to see the Bosporus straits myself.
Wishing her a very good journey
Stay away from the southern borders.
Heat is high.

Oh, man! Why on EARTH would she want to go THERE?! That’s awful. I’m sorry.
My prayers are with the girls.
I have often wanted to travel to that part of the world.
Thank you all very much for your prayers, good thoughts and reassuring comments, they truly helped ease my fears ~ ~ some.
Rebecca landed safely back in NYC yesterday afternoon.
I will be resurrecting this thread next February, as she is headed to Trinidad & Tobago for Carnival and a volleyball tournament.
Jeez I could murder a lamb Swarma ☺
HAHAHA! Yes, I have a gross lack of desire for visitation of terrorist territory. My bad! :-)
Turkey is a crossroads from the middleast to the western world and is secular
I would go in a heartbeat
