Ran across this one the other night, and thought it'd make for a nice change of pace. Simply an amazing amount of talent on this ep. The part of the show where Hope, Martin, and George Gobel are going at it just leaves me in stitches.

Hope and Martin are far better known but Lonesome George brought the house down.

Lonesome George...loved his deadpan humor.

I use to sneak into our basement and watch Johnny Carson's show in the mid 60's, sipping tea and eating popcorn and loving it on a school night.
Please add me to your FRiday night movie Ping list!

Unbelievable amount of talent on one show. Dean could have carried it all by himself.

I’ve seen this. Dean Martin was feeling absolutely no pain, IIRC. The others (Hope, Carson and Gobel) were perfect.

I always thought Dean’s drunk spiel was an act.

Is this the one where Dean is flicking ashes into George’s drink? I remember seeing it live back in the day. Johnny had no competition back in those days. Because the other networks knew darn well no one could compete with him.
