The idiots know what horses do, they know the Amish live in the area and have horses. It is Amish country after all. Maybe the whiners should move to Indianapolis or Chicago, or get over themselves.

Why make the Amish clean up the hitching racks? Do the “taxpayers” of LaGrange County park their cars at the hitching racks when they want to do something nearby?

I’m 83 and grew up in a Boston neighborhood in the 30s and 40s.

When I was a child horse drawn trucks were still around for milk delivery and the rag man (Anyone remember those?) .
No one ever complained about horse manure—it was just a fact of life.

Bun-Bags.Seems reasonable. They use them for the carriage horses in large cities, and also in some areas that offer children's pony rides.

But ... but ... but ... the Amish farmers probably kick in more in property taxes than the petitioners.
As for flashy horses, the newest thing is the Dutch Harness Horse ... big and strong, but also high-headed and stylish.
They also like Saddlebred and Morgan crosses.
(We live nearby and get the local Amish “trader” paper which has pages and pages of ads for horses for sale.)
