He was referring to the extreme closeup I posted in 2. Not the more distant one in 38.

Besides the point about the scale being vastly different between the two images, and the field of view therefore being much tinier in the closeup, there may also be the full moon effect’ going on there, with the bright light of Charon washing out any faint/average stars that may be in that tiny field of view.
