It was a drug raid, but targeting the victim’s two nephews.
“The couple, Ruther and Lisa Hayes, allege in a federal lawsuit that police commanders failed to train officers in the constitutional bounds and limits concerning the use of force, especially when it came to interactions with disabled people.”
Yeah, because disabled people are worthier of constitutional rights than the rest of us...
Tell us all about your time spent in the armed forces.
I’m shocked the Drug War isn’t friendlier.
Well quadriplegics do have the right not to stand up when ordered to by the police.
“Yeah, because disabled people are worthier of constitutional rights than the rest of us...”
No, because disabled people may not be able to carry out their orders. If I had to walk a straight line, they would put me in jail because I can’t.
That woman was a quadriplegic and that means her arms and legs aren’t going to move no matter how loud they shout at her to get up, no matter if they hold a gun on her, she still can’t move.
Cops should know some people are in bad physical shape and cops should be able to judge that fairly quickly, especially with a quadriplegic.
