A friend and I were discussing music earlier. I mentioned an instrumental version of "A Day in the Life" I heard after a Beatles' tribute concert in August at Red Rocks as I was leaving the amphitheater. He looked it up and mentioned this one he found on You Tube. I've heard the name Jeff Beck. I know he is a guitarist. But I know nothing about him. So after listening to his cover of...
"A Day In The Life"

...I found tonight three other nice pieces by him:
"Corpus Christi Carol"

"Suspension"

"Amazing Grace"

Jeff is one of the best guitarists ever. Saw him play a “Day in The Life” live several years ago. I had taken my friends Neil Zaza and Mike Zaite, Dr, Z, to see Jeff perform in Berea Ohio. Their jaws were on the floor, and Neil is no slouch!

Neil left for a tour of China today. I’ve been honored to record with him.
Great story. Thanks for sharing. A lot talent out there. :)
He doesn’t know anything about Jeff Beck?? One of the greatest guitar players of all time.
No...**I** didn’t know anything about Jeff Beck! I’ll admit it. I know the name and he’s a guitarist. If I heard his music, I didn’t know it was him. After tonight, I know a tiny bit more.

Les Paul invented the electric guitar but in some quite amazing bit of kismet it was really invented so Jeff Beck could wail on it.
Have you heard of Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page? They were bandmates of Jeff beck in the Yardbirds. A great old British invasion band from the 60s. Check them out on youtube if you’re not familiar.
Is your name Roberto Gaspar because that’s who wrote this right? That’s who *I* was referring to.
I know both of them. I know Jimmy Page was with Led Zeppelin. I know some of Eric Clapton’s more famous pieces. I know Eric Clapton was married to George Harrison’s ex.
Oh no. Sorry for misunderstanding. I wrote this. Roberto Gaspar posted the “A Day in the Life” piece to You Tube.
I’m getting old. I grew up with Elvis Presley music and remember well when the Beatles came on the scene and the British invasion bands like the Yardbirds.
It happens. No avoiding it. :( I’m more familiar with the Beatles as I got into them *heavily* as a pre-teen/teen after John Lennon died.
Pretty.
Yup, Always we must consider the alternative....
Prefer to ignore that aspect...lol. :)
Thanks! Heard this diff live version earlier:

The Yardbirds were the most accomplished musicians of the British invasion - great, great songs and Beck was beyond amazing with his solos.
Clapton was their first lead guitarist followed by Page & Beck. At one time, both Page and Beck were in the Yardbirds at the same time.
Of the three, Beck was far and away the best of the three.
As an aside, that’s Clapton on lead guitar on Harrison’s classic “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”.
