GOP primary contenders Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 80%and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)47%skipped a critical cloture vote that allowed Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 52%s plan to fund the government, including Planned Parenthood, to move forward without risking a shutdown. That means Rubio and Graham, for whatever reason, skipped a key vote that would have shown where their allegiances lie regarding funding for the highly controversial abortion provider, which, based on recent undercover video investigations, is in the business of selling aborted baby body parts to the highest bidder.
The vote succeeded 77 to 19 without Rubio or Grahams help, thanks to every Democrat in the U.S. Senate voting for McConnells Continuing Resolution (CR). But Rubio and Graham skipped the vote that matters; cloture is the only place where McConnell and his allies in the Democratic conference could be stopped. So both can claim on the presidential campaign trail how pro-life they are all they want, but when push came to shovewhen the pro-life community needed them mostthey were not there.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)96% and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)93%, on the other hand, were present and voted no. Cruz did so with extraordinary criticisms of GOP leadership, including McConnell.
Notice how much energy Majority Leader McConnell devotes to attacking conservatives? Notice how much energy Speaker Boehner devotes to attacking conservatives? Cruz said on the Senate floor on Monday evening in a scathing speech about leadership, in which he accused McConnell and Boehner of cutting a deal with the Democratsabout the worst possible thing they could have done.

He’s showed them before now believe me. I initially liked him and thought he was the next rising Repub. star. Then I saw him, had to be at least 6 or more years ago on CNN at an airport returning from Germany. He appeared with a government official from Puerto Rico. That did it for me. He was guarded and fudged on several things. Can’t remember details at this point but I could tell he was not being honest and I didn’t like it or trust him afterwards. Time has proven I was correct. I think being older helps too. When you are younger you tend to project onto people what you hope for and you believe them way too easily. Time has a way of fixing that, too ;- )
His own personal rendition of voting “present” ala Barack Hussein Obama [signaling he is ‘open’ to negotiation, in his OWN WORDS].
You guys want to know what a snake looks like? Go watch Senor Senator Rubio on TV.
We used to have Senators chosen by the State Governments. In changing that to elected by the people, it was one of the very big mistakes that have been made in weakening our Constitution.
ME TOO
How are absents and asbstentions counted for congressional voting? In a lot of states, they are counted as “no” votes.
ummmmm ....
don't rush me ..... ummmmm ......
Sorry Kid!
You would after Trump exposed his voting absence record, Rubio would have showed up.
Gutless. Definitely not leadership material. And abortion supporters to boot.
Rubio is totally owned by the lobbyists and special interests. A lightweight senator with the worst voting record in Senate. Lazy!
At least Obama voted “present”, we know he bothered to show up.
Rubio can’t even be bothered to go to work.
I've always said that if you are a man of principle, you are virtually error-proof against "gotcha" questions and debate tactics. You can think on your feet, and not have to stand dumbfounded while trying to quickly figure out which way the poll-winds are blowing, or what is the current party narrative.

You lost me on the “good looking” part.
Yes, professor Experience is a tough one isn’t he.
When your true colors are in question, vote “Present” or... not present.
A man of (no) conviction...
Cruz called it in his speech the other day - Miss Graham and Amnesty Boy are evading responsibility by having to be somewhere else that is “oh so important”.
I think most of us would call it wisdom.
” like a smooth character”
As in oily. He’s proven to be untrustworthy.
