A New Orleans teen whose mother turned him into police Monday night (Sept. 28) was part of a group accused of stealing $310 in cash, a cell phone and the Nike Jordan's off a victim over the weekend, according to police documents.
New Orleans Police Department officers arrested Lance Lindsey, 17, about an hour after media reports surfaced that police were seeking him in a weekend armed robbery and kidnapping. His mother called police around 8:20 p.m. Monday, notifying them Lindsey was at her home on Ebbtide Drive, less than a mile from the scene of the alleged crime in eastern New Orleans.
According an NOPD arrest warrant, the victim told police he was standing near the intersection of Dinkins and Benson streets around 6:40 p.m. Saturday when a Champagne-colored Honda SUV occupied by three men pulled up to him.
He recognized the man in the front passenger seat as "Lance," who was identified later by police as Lindsey. The victim told police he had seen him around his neighborhood but did not know him beyond that.

that’s a great looking kid....I keep asking myself why, why, why, and I work in a Max security Juvenile facility and the story is always the same....13% of the population and 60% of the violators....WHY?????
She turned him into police? He doesn’t look like police in the photo. Maybe that is a “Before” shot. What did he look like after she turned him into police?
Man, then Kenyans have some teeth.
I don’t know. My son has as many black friends as white or Asian friends. I’ve known a lot of these kids since they were little. But when these kids hit their teenage years there was a certain group who where always getting in trouble. Some have been in and out of jail. Another thing, it is not for lack of intelligence because all of these kids are smart.
Mom, you did the right thing.
