I'm running Chrome, on Linux. All up to date.
I just went to the ABC.com^ link and got a REPORTED ATTACK PAGE alarm.
I then went to the link at the bottom of the article ABC7.com and got connected.
The only difference is the caret ^ in the link.
Running Firefox, I just unchecked the ‘Block reported attack sites’ under the Options->Security menu.
Maybe not for everyone without some kind of backup screening.
I’m running Firefox on Linux, no problems.
Also running NoScript and adblock pro. No problem.
It’s not malware. The program is only looking at the construction of the link. It starts with free republic and it ends up somewhere else. This link construction is common for some links that have malware. The link is designed to fool people into clicking on it. This is not the case on free republic.
Things will happen fast.
Firefox gives me the same response only the malware notice is different.
Right. It seems to be the Google subscription service used by browsers.
Just tried Win 10 /IE All ok.
Win 10 / Chrome OK?
All on a different box.
Still getting the malware notice on my workstation?
Next up a reboot and run Clam.
?
Did not try the Apple or Android boxes.
We are without prejudice here’ We believe in equal opportunity for all OS’s !
My thinking is that computers should do the same thing with the same input; or I get nervous.
Toggling Block reported attack sites, does turn it on and off?
I have not see any alarms on Freerepublic.com for years?
Yes, it can be turned off.
I also have not seen the attack site thingy on FR for years.
Hmmm. I am running Opera on a Linux OS and had no difficulties with the links you provided. Perhaps you need to check your anti-malware settings, right?
Dear Brother Laz,
I’m not certain that I want become one of the four horseman?
Also note that I have a bit more seniority than you, here at FR.
That said, should I elect to ride with you; I want the white horse!
I want a pony.
Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, Come. I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.
;Revelation 6:1-2
You may prefer the pale horse, but I have dibs the white one!

Vanity: Temporary Fix for the Malware warning page that is plaguing FR today
It seems to have something to do with the redirector. I don’t get the warning if I click on the link below the excerpted portion of the article.
I never had a pony! Why should you get a pony?
