Here are some of his most memorable Yogisms that actually came from the Hall of Famer (ADD WHAT YOU REMEMBER OR KNOW IF I MISS A FEW ):

“It ain’t over till it’s over.”

“It’s déjà vu all over again.”

“90% of the game is half mental”

“When you come to a fork in the road ... take it.”

“I usually take a two-hour nap from 1 to 4.”

“Never answer an anonymous letter.”

“I want to thank you for making this day necessary.”

“We made too many wrong mistakes.”

“A nickel ain’t worth a dime anymore.”

“You can observe a lot by watching.”

“I don’t know (if they were men or women fans running naked across the field). They had bags over their heads.”

“The future ain’t what it used to be.”

“It ain’t the heat, it’s the humility.”

“It gets late early out here.”

“If the world were perfect, it wouldn’t be.”

“Nobody goes to that place anymore, it’s too crowded.”

“If the people don’t want to come out to the ballpark, nobody’s going to stop them.”

“Pair up in threes.”

“Why buy good luggage? You only use it when you travel.”

“I always thought that record would stand until it was broken.”

“I’m not going to buy my kids an encyclopedia. Let them walk to school like I did.”

“I think Little League is wonderful. It keeps the kids out of the house.”

“You should always go to other people’s funerals, otherwise, they won’t come to yours.”

“I didn’t really say everything I said.”

Yogisms were a reflection of the man and his working class origins and personality. He came to his fame through his incredible baseball talents but he stayed there because we kind of instinctually liked the guy. He knew he was being funny but that was just part of his unpretentiousness and guy on the next bar stool after work personality.
