Our sentimental selfish humanity loves those thoughts, but they are clearly not seen within Scripture. We, if we are Christians, are the Bride of Christ, forever...
The profound, underlying truth of the Scriptures which identify the bride is that we are not only invited to Jesus wedding, but we are in fact His bride the one to whom He, our Bridegroom, shall be wed. Whether you are a man or a woman, you have been created to be the bride of Christ, because there is no distinction of gender in the eyes of our Creator. God is making ready a bride for His eternal intimacy. Is your heart longing to be His bride? Have you made yourself ready? -Bride of Christ
Matthew 22: 23 That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question. 24 Teacher, they said, Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and raise up offspring for him. 25 Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. 26 The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. 27 Finally, the woman died. 28 Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?
29 Jesus replied, You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. ...
For God’s sake, get over your pious, smug self.
I’ll watch the video and think good things about this beautiful couple and hope that they live in heaven together.
You must be a lot of fun at parties.
It is true that by virtue of a mere worldly love they could not, but what justification is there to coming back with a catty answer patting yourself on the back?
Surely the loving thing to say is to hope Christ comes, is accepted, and crowns their love... and nobody has said He hasn’t, and yet we still have folks bristling at hopes... not even pontifications... that God could in fact fulfill. Just because he didn’t sing Amazing Grace doesn’t prove they are unbelievers.
It’s people like you who drive people away from Christ.
How dare anyone on this thread diminish in any way the beauty and love of these two elderly people to say goodbye after a lifetime together? I wish I had been able to say I Love You and kiss my husband goodbye when he died suddenly next to me at 3:11 a.m. in 2011. I was left to try to save his life when I realized he wasnt breathing. I dont wish that on anyone here or elsewhere! I think those who post uncalled for comments about the beauty of this couples love is jealous that they never found love. Perhaps we can see why!
Some of the uncalled for comments on this thread are proof of why wars are fought over religion. Each of us is entitled to our own faith and religious beliefs; just dont shove them on anyone else. Intolerance is not a virtue!
